Don’t forget that you have the power to reduce pain during vaccinations!

If you have a non-urgent health issue that requires attention but you do not have a primary care provider you may want to visit a walk-in clinic. There are several located across the Island. Clinic times and locations are regularly updated on Health PEI’s website. Be sure to call ahead to make sure that the clinic is open.

Health PEI aligns with Health Canada’s recommendation for exclusive breastfeeding until your baby is at least six months. The Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI), developed by UNICEF and the World Health organization, supports health centres around the world to facilitate successful breastfeeding. Health PEI follows the BFI as a guide to providing families with key information and support for infant feeding.

Many families are referred to the IWK Health Centre for care during pregnancy. Health PEI and the IWK Health Centre work very closely to make sure Island families receive the best care and that your needs are met. If you or your partner need care from the IWK Health Centre during the pregnancy, check out their website to learn more about their services.
